Textra, a British company that sells SMS messages, is set to sell its SMS to the global SMS service market.
The news comes a week after the firm announced that it would be selling SMS in Australia.
In a blog post on its website, the company said it had been looking for “a way to build a global SMS market”.
Textra said it was “committed to continuing to offer and develop SMS in order to help the global mobile SMS market grow and thrive”.
It said it has launched a global marketing campaign to support this goal, with the aim of selling 20 million SMS messages by the end of the year.
The SMS market was valued at $10.5 billion at the end 2016.
Textra, which launched in 2013 and has around 400 employees, is the only provider of SMS messaging services in Australia, with around 300 million SMS being sent globally every month.
