Pulse Sms app is free to download for Android and iOS users.
It offers an alternative to SMS messaging for those with slow internet connections.
The app is also compatible with BlackBerry phones, including the Q10, which is currently available on Android and the Apple iPhone.
But it has an issue with some apps not being compatible with the app.
The developer has taken to Twitter to apologise, saying the issue has been resolved.
“Pulse is now open source for all to use.
It is a great way to communicate with your friends without being tethered to a phone or tablet.
This app has been updated to address this issue,” the tweet reads.
